Gingerbread Trailer Park Contest

The Yacht Club is an Atlanta institution. For 30 years this landlocked treasure has been serving up locals and freaks of all denominations. Located in the always funky Little Five Points area, the bar was always been fun, raunchy and a bit seedy. which makes the Gingerbread Trailer Park Contest a perfect fit. The competition has been going on for over 10 years and has become a tradition that brings out art, snark and creativity.

We attended the opening night and gawked at the amazing creations, had a couple drinks and talked to the organizer and competitors.

The owner would be Chris, aka Hippie. He suspects it may have been going on for 10 years, but our research team unearthed that it could possibly be as old as 12 years. Who can say.

After Hippie we talked with a bunch of competitors: Cecily (who won 3rd!), Annika (been at it for 9 years!), Mother/Son team Amy and Chris (Most Christmassy Award!), Steve and Charlotte (2nd Place!) and finally, our champ Laurie.

Congrats to all the winners and all the contestants. Get your butt down here next year and enter!

Thanks to The Euclid Avenue Yacht Club for hosting such a great event!
